Wi-Fi at Verizon Center

We have installed free, unrestricted wireless Internet access at Verizon Center, and it’s currently available for Mystics games and will be available for the upcoming Capitals and Wizards seasons. Our new FanAccess Wi-Fi network allows fans with wireless devises the ability to connect to the web from their seats.

I wish I could say right now that we guarantee 100% coverage, but there are frequency limitations. We constantly will be monitoring the number of users and adding access points as needed. Unfortunately logistics prohibit concourse access, but Wi-Fi will be available in the Players Club, Dewar’s Club and the Acela Club. And I can assure you we will be fine-tuning, and will do everything possible to accommodate as many fans as possible.

World Premiere – “A Fighting Chance”

Get a sneak peek right here right now of A Fighting Chance. It is part of SnagFilm’s SummerFest series.

This film will debut on ESPN in November.

It was produced by me and Rick Allen and my daughter Elle is an associate producer.

It was directed by two very talented artists, Takashi Doscher and Alex Shofner. This is their first film. I am proud of them.

It is about Kyle Maynard, one of the great athletes and great inspirational characters of our time.

A Great CEO for GM!

Dan is a friend and a business associate. We serve on the American Express Board of Directors together. He is our neighbor in McLean, Virginia.

This is an inspired choice. If anyone can restore GM to greatness – it is Dan Akerson. This company is a public trust and an American icon. Dan is one of the great leaders and business executives in the entire country. A perfect fit – a perfect choice. Inspired.

Thank You

DJ King wants to have a word with you about that “Charmin paper tissue” comment. :-)

We appreciate all you do for local hockey. We appreciate your work for TBD. This was nice of you to say. I will comment that I believe this game is all about the players and the coaches and if I had my way, I would have added the “fans Rocking the Red” on Mount Puckmore. Our fans are who have put us on the hockey map. Thank you. Go Caps!

Honeycomb Gets His Due

Gus Johnson – what a player and what a star performer for the Bullets! Mr. Pollin retired his jersey for a reason. The man could play. He could fly. He could run. He could jump out of the building. He was tough as nails. He was the first to break backboards! Mr. Pollin and the fans loved this player as a teammate, a player and a man.

He now gets his due. He is in the Hall of Fame. His memory lives forever now. For those of you too young to know who Gus Johnson was check out these highlight videos. Now that was a great second round pick! RIP Gus Johnson and congratulations to your family for this great honor.
