Sounds Like T9

On phones. Sounds like what the folks at Tegic used to say to me a long time ago at AOL, “Oh yeah, we bought Tegic and then someone sold it for cash.”

Tegic invented this kind of thinking and algorithms – for mobile - a shame people forget. Another place where AOL led the pack 11 years ago. What is old is new again.

And I don’t want to hear how AOL blew it – Tegic is the leader in its space. AOL just never built a huge mobile practice in the B2B sector.

Tegic was predictive and on phones anticipating what you wanted to type a long time ago. Check it out here and here.

I Was In NYC Yesterday

And everywhere I went - hotel lobbies, meeting rooms, trains - I saw people with their iPads.

IPads and iPhones are tools of the trade now for all business people.

People use their iPads as productivity tools as well as e-readers. And as fashion statements.

Here is a great film on Apple to remind us how fantastic this company is and how devoted Mac users have become. Click here to watch MacHeads.

Youth and More Youth

We promised a team that was built around a young core.

John Carlson is a big part of that plan. See article here.

We could be a younger team this coming season. I count a new young goaltender; two young D men; and a new young center all having a great chance to play big minutes for our team this season.

I hope and believe we will improve by getting younger!

The draft has been very good to us as a team.

A Wonderful Article on Female Ownership in WNBA

I am very pleased that we are mentioned in this article.

I still don’t understand why the media can’t get facts correct though as per my blog post of yesterday.

But it is wonderful that Sheila Johnson is profiled. She is our managing partner and an owner of the team alongside all of our other partners as well as me. I outlined all of this yesterday in my blog post regarding setting the record straight.

The Washington Mystics were originally sold to Lincoln Holdings by Abe Pollin as per our original operating agreement. Sheila joined our partnership. We then bought the Mystics and Sheila has always been a partner in our holding company, now called Monumental Sports and Entertainment. Sheila owns a part of the Mystics; the Wizards; the Capitals; Verizon Center; and the local Ticketmaster franchise. She is the only African American woman in history to own parts of three professional sports teams. A true trailblazer! She is certainly the partner that runs the Mystics franchise.

Those are the facts.

The tonality of this article is spot on. Sheila lives and breathes the team. She is our partner but she also is involved with all of the other enterprises within Monumental Sports and Entertainment. There are many other partners that also own a piece of the Mystics as well as being partners within Monumental Sports and Entertainment. We have an additional female owner, too, in all of the enterprises in Michelle Freeman. Just trying to set the record straight and give a shout out to Michelle Freeman, too.
