Happiness – it is your life’s work. You have permission to be happy. You really do. You can do it.

Mr Leonsis,
I really have enjoyed your book about happiness. It very much resonates with me and my quest for happiness. I like this post because it emphasizes a way of life or an approach or mental state that one needs to strive towards, not just attain. I forget this all time, and sometimes wonder why I don’t feel happy. Then I remember, it is not something to “get” or “have”, it is something to “be” and “feel”. After all the best things in life are free.
The other day, I read this article in the The Washington Post
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2010/10/06/AR2010100607228.html
and I could not help think about your book’s message that happiness is something that everyone can have even if you are not the owner of the Caps and Wizards. I did not know Mr. Guardado, but after reading the article, it sounds like he was a happy man. He enjoyed the people he meet and talked to each day, and shared himself sincerely with people. People like Mr Guardado are true champions of happiness.
Keep spreading the word about seeking happiness, it has helped me and I appreciate it. Thanks, – Andy
Is it just me, or does he look a lot like Cal Ripken?
