John Getz

John Getz played George Fitch in our film Nanking.

He is a great actor. He now plays the chief lawyer to fake Mark Zuckerberg in the film The Social Network.

I saw the film this weekend. It was well done but I am sure NOT accurate in totality about the founding of this great young company. Hollywood takes its liberties in the name of storytelling, drama and three acts - that is for sure.

Slow Follower

A company is born. It is innovative and it creates markets. It grows. It goes public. It hires lots of people and then it bogs down.

A sure sign of this? When a company thinks it can launch a product and service years late and catch a young private company in the space.

For the most part, a slow follower never wins. Specialists rule the day.

Fast followers have a shot. Slow followers - not so much.

Sorry About That

We can’t win them all. We didn’t play well on Sunday. We finish the pre-season group of games at 5-1. We had a productive pre-season and we remain relatively healthy, which is important to us all.

The coaches and general manager now focus on who makes the team for this coming weekend’s set of games.

Who stays? Who goes home? Who will be brought up and sent down from Hershey?

We then practice hard all week and head to Atlanta on Thursday for Game 1 on Friday and then our first home game on Saturday night against the always tough New Jersey Devils.

It has been a quick camp and pre-season. We are ready as a team to drop the puck. Wish us good health and good luck. Go Caps!
