We are huge in Thailand. Who knew? Not me. I enjoyed this one very much. Check it out.

Rock & Wrap It Up
We are very committed to our community and are attempting to do our part in combating hunger and homelessness in our city. All of us at Verizon Center and our partners from Aramark and Levy Restaurants enjoy a great relationship with the D.C. Central Kitchen. They do great work and it’s rewarding for us to join forces with them. Here’s a nice article at WUSA9.com that looks at our food donation program.
The Danes
What a great film The Danish Solution.

See You All Tonight at Verizon Center
The season is winding down with only a few home games left.
I wish we were healing instead of reeling with players going down to injury but such is life in professional sports. See this article from the Washington Post on injuries.
We are still in a race for final seeding for the playoffs. Every game still matters to us.
Go Caps! Thank you.
About Last Night
That was an interesting game to say the least against the Miami Heat.
We played aggressive and tough basketball. We didn’t back down in any way against a superior vet-laden team.
We were terribly short-handed yet we competed and played hard until the end. We don’t get the benefit of the doubt on calls in any fashion yet from the officials. We have to earn that right and we shall.
We have found a gem in rookie Jordan Crawford, haven’t we?
Giving a rookie playing time is the best way to know where he stands in his development. Check out Jordan’s stats of late. Wow. He was huge last night! I am proud of him.
With John Wall, Nick Young – who is injured – and Jordan Crawford, we will have a fine young and developing back court for many years to come.
I thought the team rallied around one another last night and were brothers in arms. I thought John Wall’s reaction to his rejection from the game was appropriate. See this article.
Enjoyable game. There are no “good” losses but I was happy with our performance last night.
Thank You Mr. Pollin and Family
Please read this article.
It details the development going on around Nationals Park and how long it takes for redevelopment to take hold.
We are all indebted to the Pollin family for their belief in downtown DC and for building the Verizon Center.
I was not a part of that decision-making and it was purely Abe’s belief in the city that drove his passion for building the Verizon Center here. Abe and his family and close business associates did all of the heavy lifting to help revitalize this city.
I am honored that we have stepped in his shoes and are now stewards of this great building and can see his vision come to fruition as to the rebirth of downtown DC.
Keep the faith as to it happening again around Nats Park.
Peace One Day
I saw the news today, oh boy.
Too many conflicts. Too much carnage and unrest.
I recommend we all watch this film together Peace One Day. This is a great idea.
Stop the madness at least for one day.

One tiny edit: I was Mayor of Orchid, Florida NOT Orchard Park, Florida.
Wizards vs. Heat Tonight
It is a sellout at Verizon Center tonight.
We play the highly motivated Miami Heat coming off an emotional loss against Cleveland last night. Read about it here.
Our last game against the Heat at home was quite entertaining even though we lost in OT.
I am hopeful we will get a player or two back from the injured list tonight to add to our depth. We need it.
