Rock & Wrap It Up

We are very committed to our community and are attempting to do our part in combating hunger and homelessness in our city. All of us at Verizon Center and our partners from Aramark and Levy Restaurants enjoy a great relationship with the D.C. Central Kitchen. They do great work and it’s rewarding for us to join forces with them. Here’s a nice article at WUSA9.com that looks at our food donation program.

See You All Tonight at Verizon Center

The season is winding down with only a few home games left.

I wish we were healing instead of reeling with players going down to injury but such is life in professional sports. See this article from the Washington Post on injuries.

We are still in a race for final seeding for the playoffs. Every game still matters to us.

Go Caps! Thank you.

About Last Night

That was an interesting game to say the least against the Miami Heat.

We played aggressive and tough basketball. We didn’t back down in any way against a superior vet-laden team.

We were terribly short-handed yet we competed and played hard until the end. We don’t get the benefit of the doubt on calls in any fashion yet from the officials. We have to earn that right and we shall.

We have found a gem in rookie Jordan Crawford, haven’t we?

Giving a rookie playing time is the best way to know where he stands in his development. Check out Jordan’s stats of late. Wow. He was huge last night! I am proud of him.

With John Wall, Nick Young – who is injured – and Jordan Crawford, we will have a fine young and developing back court for many years to come.

I thought the team rallied around one another last night and were brothers in arms. I thought John Wall’s reaction to his rejection from the game was appropriate. See this article.

Enjoyable game. There are no “good” losses but I was happy with our performance last night.
