About Last Night

Yep, both teams are very evenly matched again.

Both teams know each other quite well.

The differential between both teams this time of year is very small.

When you win, you cant get excited. When you lose, you can’t get down.

This column sums it up quite well.

We hit some posts and some bounces went the wrong way.

At the end of the day though they scored on a power play and we didn’t. And that is the big difference – special teams play. With less than a minute left in a period, that hurt.

We kicked a goal in and it was correctly called. No goal.

They got a lucky bounce but they were buzzing the net so the goal was quite deserved. We lose. They win.

Onward to Sunday.

Playoff hockey.

Thank you to the fans for showing class when an opponent went down with an injury. We were all quite concerned and we are grateful that all will turn out well.

Go Caps!

Atom Smashers

They are smarter than me.

And maybe even you.

Tonight

Embrace whatever comes our way.

Enjoy the moment.

Have fun.

Be loud. Wear red. Express joy.

Take the high road in all.

Be prepared for the roller coaster.

There are no favorites.

Every team is now 0-0.

There is no relevant history.

It is all real time; all in the moment.

Hope we have good fortune and luck.

The games are too close to call all around the NHL.

We have worked hard to be here as has the other side.

Kudos to both teams. May the best team win. Drop the puck. Go Caps! Thank you.

Happy We Can Get Back to Work

We know who we are playing now.

Starting Friday night at home.

The staff can coach and show film of what works and what doesn’t. We can practice with focus.

Amazing set of circumstances in the playoffs: Home teams losing Game 7′s — not scoring on the power play — losing 3-1 leads — sounds familiar, doesn’t it?

Tampa is red hot with lots of momentum; a very talented team; and great ownership and management. This will be a true challenge. We will need your help as fans. Be loud and proud.

Enclosed is a bunch of pixels. I don’t need to contribute to the monster feeding. Looking forward to Round 2. This is a lot of fun. Go Caps!

Still?

We still don’t know who we will play in round 2 of the playoffs.

We await the outcome of the next two Game 7s tonight so stay tuned.

The Montreal vs. Boston series is quite intense and hard hitting with two great goaltenders being showcased.

The Pittsburgh vs. Tampa series is also so close and tough to call a favorite there as well.

We all will be watching and awaiting news of the outcomes.

I stayed up late and watched the Vancouver vs. Chicago game. What a thriller and a great OT win for the Canucks! That was quite the jubilation and emotional release as a celebration with the win like a giant weight had been lifted. Great game. Wow!

I am so impressed with these playoffs. Every team is capable of a win; one bounce; one piece of good fortune; and one lucky bounce changes the game. So close — so hard fought — so noble.

Stay tuned and wish us well. The clock is now ticking. We have had a nice rest. We are practicing hard. We will see you all again soon. Go Caps!
