Two years ago– the NY Rangers were up on us– 3 games to 1. We rallied and beat them in game 7 to win the series.
Last season, we were up 3 games to 1 over Montreal; they rallied to beat us in game 7.
We won an important game last night. That is all; it was fun; thrilling and I am happy that we didn’t quit and we battled and we silenced a very loud and proud crowd at MSG. This is a meaningful article here on sports–metro areas; and collective psyches.
But– we havent won the series. We have lots of work left to do–we are only up in the series 3 games to 1; anything can still happen; we must learn from history. Be humble. Be respectful. Don’t celebrate. Work hard. Stay focused.
I have a request. Of you all.
Let us show everyone how loud and creative we can be as a fan base on Saturday.
The MSG crowd were a part of the game last night– they were in to it; but I know our building can be the LOUDEST in the league; and we are the most creative fan base– so have some fun; create some theatre; be loud and be proud. Act as 1; be unified.
BUT– be nice– I have been treated with respect by the NY Rangers as have our partners and our fan base that visit; and we have more and more fans ;dressed in red– going to road games.
Embrace this– extend it– help us to help you!
