An interesting announcement today. I am proud of how bold American Express has become in digital payments. Click here to read this story and thank you.
In partial thanks to Michael Wilbon, ESPN has a high level of interest in our series against the New York Rangers with his focus on Alex Ovechkin in this article.
As I noted here, I and we are beholden to Alex Ovechkin and we are grateful for his level of professional and leadership as our Captain. He is a star but he is a great teammate and is in it together with us all.
Our team and our leaders are under a lot of scrutiny these days. It all comes with the territory in the playoffs. I believe we shall all show grace under pressure. Time to drop the puck. Enjoy the series and tonight’s game. Go Caps!
One of our great civic and business leaders passed away late last evening. I had the honor to spend some quality time with him last year at a charity event. He was the most positive person I had ever met and said that “age was just a number – play offense with your life.” He was an example to us all.
He will be missed. He was central to our city and our media landscape. He was a great philanthropist and our thoughts and prayers go out to his family at this sad time.
Wish us luck.
A long and rebuilding season comes to an end.
I enjoyed reading this piece on Andray Blatche. It outlines his statistical improvement year over year. Facts are good.
As his game improved, so did our team’s chances of success on the court.
I am appreciative of his playing while injured. His commitment to help his teammates is commendable.
The team has bonded. They want to win every game and they don’t want the season to end. That is great to see.
Our new coach and GM at the Mystics articulated a plan of reinvention to us. It focused on building a bigger team; a team more committed to defense; and a team that could go deep in rotation as the season grinded on into the playoffs. We are now rebuilt – quickly – as a bigger, tougher team. We will need to gel as the season unfolds but we have changed the makeup of our team.
I believe she is delivering and as a combo GM and coach she is able to draft and trade for the kind of players she personally wants to coach on the court. Trudi Lacey is an inspiration. I always feel uplifted when talking to her!
I am also happy to report that the Inova Health Systems deal was a godsend to our organization. It gives us a great marquee partner. It shows faith in the WNBA by a major and sophisticated sponsor and it helps us to generate significant new revenues which we needed to show viability as a business.
I am excited about this coming season for the Mystics. I am proud of our front office and for the dedication Sheila Johnson shows to the franchise.
True. Accurate.
Lays out the facts.
Hard work here in getting to the details.
Read this one as we prepare to start the playoffs, the most exciting time of year for our fans and the media that cover our team.
Please remember the game starts at 7:30 pm tonight and there may be travel issues on Metro and there is construction going on all along Constitution Avenue. Please be prepared for delays.
Also please note that the demand for access to the venue and game is unprecedented. We are doing our best to accommodate all media and bloggers but we simply don’t have enough physical rooms to host everyone. Please do not think we have made any changes in access. Our issue is very similar to our last two playoff series. The demand for access is simply over the top and we don’t have enough physical capacity to host everyone. And there are many official media outlets for the New York Rangers that we must host as well. Please have empathy to our staff. Don’t get angry at the messenger.
Thank you all for the support. The after market demand for tickets to tonight’s game is over the top as well. Wish us luck. Wish us good health. Please be loud and proud but polite to all. Go Caps! Thank you again.
The real story. A great film. Very moving and very telling.
Autism speaks. Autism is rampant. It is real.
Watch Loving Lampposts on SnagFilms. We are honored to bring you wonderful films such as this one.
The network has been very supportive of our teams and for that I am grateful.
I appreciated the time they gave us to talk about the Capitals yesterday. Here is a link to the video that they have posted on their fine website.
Thank you.
A good article all about our pending playoff series with the New York Rangers.
We respect the New York Rangers and every team that has qualified for the playoffs.
No bulletin board fodder from us. We want to be all about business and respect the game and the opponent.
I appreciate ESPN nationally for covering our series and for Scott being here in DC to meet and talk to our players and coaches and come to the games. That is very nice of him and them.
