In the playoffs special teams play in the NHL is magnified in importance.
Games are so tight. Killing a power play or scoring on a man advantage is sometimes all of the difference between success and failure.
Our penalty killing improved last season.
Our power play didn’t. In fact, it was a main culprit of our struggles. If you want to call it that…as we finished with second best record during the regular season.
But in the playoffs if we score on the power play we gain momentum. We win more games and we are more competitive. And we didn’t. We struggled on our power play which is painful for all with all of the talent and skill we have on that unit. I hear you all as you send me emails.
This is an interesting article on penalty killing and power plays; chocked full of stats.
We have a lot of work to do to make our power play more productive and less predictable. More stress tested when it really counts – in the playoffs. This is no secret. Stop our power play efficiency. Frustrate our team. This is an area where we will place much focus and attention to detail.
A nice interview with Mrs. Pat Fay. Thanks to all that keep the memories current and for supporting such a great cause. We are all proud of your efforts. Click here to read this one. Thank you.
Geesh! I just read this article. It outlines the top sites from 1996. Fifteen years of web history. Just check out the reporting formats.
In the list of the top 20 sites listed here, five of them reported to me during my career at AOL. Three of them at the same time.
AOL, Webcrawler and GNN back in 1996. Netscape and CompuServe later in the decade.
Then and now.
I feel old but experienced. This was nostalgic and fun to read. Thank you.
This one is mind bending.
Risk takers as leaders; read this one. Quite the theory with a high level of thought provocation.

Thanks for the nice words and the positive review; most appreciated. Thank you.
Truly amazing cooking. Funny videos. Eat up! Amazing streamed traffic, too. What the web was created for…
Yin and yang. I certainly relate to this one.
Blow the team up, they say.
Stay the course, other says.
Make trades? No, Stand pat.
Sign free agents? No, build from within.
Mixed feelings all around.
But we did our best. We tried to improve. We were aggressive and I believe smart.
We still have a home grown core with many young players in the line up. And more to come.
Time will tell if what we did was right. We didn’t stray from the course in that we didn’t sign any vets to long expensive free agent contracts that would inhibit young players from staying with the team. We made enough changes to be noticed to our culture and personality but free agency isn’t a panacea, I agree.
Thank you for this one. I think it is appropriate with mixed feelings. Winning in the off season is not a goal. Trying to improve come playoff time that was what we are trying to do. Wish us well. And thank you.
Here is the info.
Another musician joins the list, Amy Winehouse.
“The 27 Club“. What a band they would make.
Eerie and sad. Just say no.
