Mashup

Kettler Capitals Iceplex is a mash up of young players and veteran players this week.

We have rookie developmental camp. Come on out and enjoy. It is free for all.

We have been welcoming in players such as Joel Ward. Olie is back in the house! Troy Brouwer was also here. There is a nice and calm anticipation about the upcoming season.

Go Caps! Thank you.

Kastles Waterside Fun

Great tennis. Great spectacle.

Great fun.

The Washington Kastles. Their new waterside stadium is perfect. Great family nighttime entertainment in Downtown DC. More than 2000 people had a great time last night that is for sure.

A beautiful night. Johnny Mac, Martina Hingis. Historic players still competitive and playing to win. Mark Ein has built a magnificent venue and team. Support him and the Kastles. Click here and go to a match. Only 4 left this season. Go for it!

And yes…I was ONLY joking when I said that the NHL would play a Winter Classic at Kastles Stadium :-) .

As John McEnroe would say: Mr Blogger… “You can’t be serious!”.

Feeling Very Good About A Stat

I believe the number one issue facing our country is job creation; and growth of revenues so that a tax base expands to help offset the deficit.

All politics is local; and families are concerned deeply about their own economic wellbeing. First and foremost and rightly so.

Recently I did an audit of all of the companies that I am involved with that are startups or that I own and lead – or that I have invested in that are private companies. I did NOT include any public companies that I serve on the board of directors.

Mind blowing! The total number of jobs that have been created or maintained is now at more than 15,000 people. This is over a 5 year period. All new jobs; all tax paying; all in light industry – clean and green.

Big businesses tend to shed jobs.

Small businesses and innovative startups tend to grow and hire people.

This job creation engine across the board is something I am very proud of. 15,000 families are at work in our companies. We generate tax revenues. We are stable and offer career development and happiness to these folks.

If you were to include public companies the number of jobs in total would exceed 100,000 families.

To have worked on creating more than 15,000 new jobs and provide opportunities that are new and fun and stable is a stat that I am most proud of. I think job creation must be a priority for our country.

This might be the stat that I am most proud of. Thank you.

Mind Blowing Amount of Change

Check out the Washington Capital’s roster in Alex Ovechkin’s rookie season. Click here.

In the 2005–2006 season, the team was a last place squad in the conference. Of all the players mentioned within ONLY Alex Ovechkin, Brooks Laich, Mike Green and now Jeff Halpern, remain.

There are some names on this team that made me smile. I hadn’t heard some names in a very long time.

The only thing constant is change. That is for sure.

See you at camp. Thank you. Go Caps!
