This article says it all.
US based consumers aren’t spending money. Anywhere – on anything.
They are paying off debt; and saving. Or they don’t have jobs and are just scraping by and consuming basics.
This is sobering news; and the 0.2 percent number is really quite stunning.
This number augurs well for companies that are considered utilities or must haves; and /or that offer terrific discounts to consumer spending basics.
We must put America back to work. That is so paramount for our economy.
Consumers NOT racking up big debt is in the long haul; a very positive thing for us; consumers having balance sheets with deposits in banks – another good thing. Cash is king.
Getting there though is painful.
