And it is now yours to see; on SnagFilms!

For free.

Anywhere.

This is so great – and exactly what kind of ground breaking great fare we will be bringing you on our new shared video platform; check it out here! Thank you.

SnagFilms Makes Mega News

I am very proud of SnagFilms. We have been growing very fast and we are now taking a set of huge new steps towards our goal of becoming the biggest and best social video media platform. A free Netflix if you will.

Today as you will see in these news releases here and by the new design of the site and the links to some of the articles; we have announced three key developments.

1. We have redesigned SnagFilms; enhanced its underlying technology platform; created a new media video player; made it easier to share and to donate; and we have made SnagFilms truly look and feel like the next generation of interactive television. The new site is really beautiful. Go and explore it and enjoy it today. And thank you to David Gang at Perfect Sense Digital. What great work here!

2. We have announced a huge new set of distribution agreements with the biggest and most important partners in the world! You will see we created deals with Microsoft Xbox 360; Wal-Mart’s Vudu; on Android; on Blackberry RIM; DirecTV; Samsung Media Hub; Vizio; and Adobe. We are becoming a part of the fabric of the web and television as to distribution. We are now essentially available everywhere including Boxee; Roku; Apple iPad; Verizon FiOS; Comcast; and the web itself. Our goal is to be available everywhere Netflix is available.

3. We have announced a huge new set of content deals that move us from documentaries to also including indie narrative films with big movie stars. Or big time directors. We will now be the place for documentaries, indie films and foreign films as well.

You will see that we have added 400 new films to the 2,300 films already in our library.

Films like “Too Young to Die” starring Brad Pitt; “Woman Talking” starring Helena Bonham Carter; and “P.U.N.K.S.” starring Jessica Alba. And some classics like the fantastic “Slackers” film.

Visit our site to see all of the new films we are adding with more already on their way daily. We will now be very aggressive in building this library.

SnagFilms is becoming a very important player in the streaming video industry. Our library is now over 5,000 hours of high quality professionally produced video. It is shareable. We embrace “Filmanthropy” and we do well by doing good.

This is an important day for the company. I wanted you all to hear the news on my blog. Click away and let me know what you think. Thank you.

Baltimore Here We Come

We bring our Caps to Baltimore tonight, a city with rich athletic history. Seeing the red, white and blue of the Capitals uniforms brings back memories of early Caps history. From 1981-1993 Baltimore was home to the Skipjacks, a minor-league team affiliated with many teams, including the Washington Capitals, before their move to Maine after the 1992-93 season. Don Beaupre and Olie Kolzig spent the early part of their careers here in Baltimore and even Bruce Boudreau spent some time with the Skipjacks during his career.

Our main mission throughout every season is to connect with our fans, all of our fans, and we strive to do that in different ways. In Baltimore, the Capitals have six NHL Street program centers in the area and hosted the first Baltimore city-wide street hockey tournament. In the last two years we joined forces with Mt. Pleasant Ice Arena and Mimi DiPietro Ice Rink as both became Capitals rink partners, and we donated 40 new sets of ice hockey equipment to various learn-to-play programs.

In addition to our physical presence in the area, we also have a strong digital fan base in Baltimore as represented by our radio support, active bloggers and rapidly growing television ratings.

We are extremely excited for our Baltimore fans to experience Washington Capitals hockey first-hand. We are in the process of building a generationally great team that is positioning itself to continually compete with the best in the NHL and are excited to share this endeavor with the fans of Baltimore.
