We celebrated my wife’s birthday last night in DC at Komi.
Komi is the number 1 rated dining establishment in the city as ranked by Washingtonian Magazine.
We now understand why!
Komi is small; intimate and quite diner friendly.
There are no menus; the chef chooses wisely and lets you sample plate after plate.
Small dishes – prepared with care – unique combos of tastes – original recipes; well served by very articulate staff. During the 2.5 hour experience last night we were served 16 different plates; the dish washers are the MVP’s at Komi!
You can tell the folks have worked together for a long time. They were a team; we were quite impressed. The service was seamless and professional and fun.
The chef is an artist. We have never had such a unique set of presentations and dishes served to us.
This was a one of a kind dining experience; there are only opportunities for 4 people at a table; they do not allow groups bigger than 4 to dine at Komi.
It is next to impossible to get a reservation; I tried for two years – and planned this dinner two months ahead of time.
If you want to plan a great night – a very unique dining experience – allot 2 to 3 hours. Plan ahead and go to Komi.
It deserved the accolades it has received. We loved it. Here is a link to their web site.
