One Week In

Wow, that first week of the season flew by, didn’t it?

We played 4 games in 7 days.

We are 4-0 with 8 standings points. We all know we can play better though.

Three games at home and one on the road.

We are starting to settle in with lots of work to do but we scored on a pp last night and we won the game by a goal. We scored on our one power play on the road and we picked up the two points.

Thanks Caps fans for turning out in record numbers so early in the season.

I look forward to seeing you all again on Tuesday. I heard on the radio last night that we have never started a season 5-0 before so now that we have jinxed it, I hope we play well for you all.

Go Caps!

Single Tickets Availability

As promised we have kept some single game tickets available to sell directly to our fans. This is important to our fans via our research and frankly to me personally. I want access for all at reasonable prices. Directly from us. If and when possible.

We have a couple of hundred tickets – sometimes that number gets as high as three hundred and fifty tickets – available to sell directly to you. This number as to availability depends on how many tickets we get turned in back from the league and television partners as well as how our group sales efforts worked for that specific game.

We keep single game tickets available so we can introduce fans to the game of hockey and we are also cognizant that fans would like the opportunity to buy tickets from us and not from ticket brokers at a huge mark up. We also understand that because of cost or time restraints not everyone can afford a season ticket.

We have a waiting list of people that want to buy season tickets. We could absorb that demand with these single tickets available; but that would be counter to our strategy of access.

We sell out these individual tickets for every game. I am hopeful that fans are buying the tickets and going to the games and those brokers or individuals aren’t buying the tickets and then reselling them at a profit.

We also have worked with the local authorities as our fans complain to me about scalpers so heads up that scalpers will be watched and dealt with by the local police. There are many under cover police men around Verizon Center so fair warning to all on this point.

We also know that the keeping of a couple of hundred tickets available at low price sometimes dampers the market of resale of tickets as this inventory must be absorbed fully in the market before high demand can be fully put in place for resale.

Supply and demand is a delicate balance. We are doing our best here all around to be fair.

I want to err on the side of access right now and sell tickets directly to fans when we can. Come out and enjoy the game.

Look to our website for ticket availability. Click here for tonight’s tickets ASAP.

I am hopeful we are doing the right thing here for all.

We are open-minded and do research and conduct season ticket holder meetings to gauge how we are doing on a consistent basis. We are trying lots of things to get it right.

I hope you all can enjoy the game of hockey and enjoy Rocking the Red. Go Caps! Thank you.

Another Great Article on Failure

Fail to succeed. Without risk there is no upside. Celebrate mistakes when you take the positive from them.

Be happy and you will be successful.

Learn from the experiences.

There is no such thing as an overnight success.

“We love the company” is a great line here.

I saw a fan the other day yelling at Alex Ovechkin at a game. He was standing up and using his thumb and second finger and forming an “L” and yelling “Loser.” Alex was in the penalty box.

“We love the company” came to mind.

Failure drives some great people. See this article. Embrace it and bounce back. Thank you.
