A little bright light

And I agree.

I loved what I saw in terms of energy – commitment, grit and toughness. And attitude.

Read this one on Chris Singleton please. And thank you.

With 15 players on the roster – the Coach and staff will be challenged to create rotations that can develop chemistry – but with such a demanding schedule – I know that all of our players will get their minutes; and will contribute and show what they can do. I am hopeful we get focused on team play and the game tonight and move on past our season opener loss – with so many games back to back; you can only look to the present and focus one game at a time.

Our fans will love Jan Vesely as well once he is in the lineup; and Kevin Seraphin will also contribute in a big way this season as well.

We have lots of young players on the team; from last year’s draft and this past draft. They all will play – and it will be fun to watch Chris Singleton’s development as a key player and a part of this young and developing team.

Sick,Unbelievable

On the game last night – totally unacceptable.

One minute in – we are down 1 to 0.

We are then down 4 to 0. Last two games played – down 3 to 0 and 4 to 0. That won’t get it done!

We try to battle back but we lose 4 to 2 last night. First game back from break – but we can’t use that as an excuse.

Time is a wasting for us. We have 48 games left to play.96 points to take.

Every point matters from here on out as we are stuck on 36 points.

This is a good blog post – very sobering and I was glad to read it. If you have the time – will be a good one to review.

Be that as it may – we must get some wins and some points and build our confidence. On the road.

Next game is against the hottest team in the NHL at home – the NY Rangers – wish us luck – we may need it.

Wizards – We saw it all last night

The good. The bad. And the really bad.

We played quite well in the first half – we played as a team and we built a 20 point lead,at one point. We moved the ball; we played big – we played tough team defense. We rebounded well. We showed speed and hustle and unselfishness. We hit our shots – we made the game look easy.

And then our youth and inexperience showed – we missed free throws when it mattered – we made some very untimely turn overs; and we lost to the NJ Nets at home in our season opener.

There were a lot of things to be happy about – we played a full rotation and several of the young players – like a Chris Singleton; looked relaxed and confident on the court.

We need to learn how to win and close a game out. I believe that shall come with time. And more experience.

Thank you for attending the season opener. The crowd was into the game and I am appreciative of your support.

Here is a link to Wizards Extreme – a blog about the team; check it out and thank you.

New INDIEwire rocks

I love the new design and navigation. The new site is clean and surfaces great content more easily.

The writing is as great as ever – and I know you will rely more and more on Indiewire for all of your entertainment planning and gathering news and information in 2012.

Click here to take it for a spin; I guarantee you will be impressed. Thank you.

No one knows nothing redux – ratings

TV Ratings boomed for the NBA on Christmas Day; fans tuned in in record numbers to watch an extravaganza of hoops on the tube.

I thought the production value and the promotions were very well done.

Basketball is back; fans love the game – TV ratings and demand for the games is very high.

The doom and gloom sayers were wrong once again.

Thank you; read this article please.

We must remember that in the year after the lock out in the NHL; the league had its greatest season in terms of revenues and attendance.

If we have a competitive team; and we play a style that the fans believe in; we will also grow quite fast year over year at the Wizards. In all respects. Demand is great. I am grateful.

The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo

Go see it – this is a grown up film. Sometimes hard to watch – sometimes hard to follow; this is an adult-oriented film that is very well made and acted and directed.

The subject matter stays with you. It isn’t for children or for young adults but if you read the book you will love the film.

I was very impressed. I think it will be an award winner for 2012.

Happy for a Point

We are grateful to pick up a point last night on the road after being down 3-0 to the Devils.

All the teams ahead of us in the standings in the division lost as well last night.

We have three games in hand on division leading Florida. They have won 18 games. We have won 17 games. The OT points really are important.

We now get to enjoy the Christmas Holiday then get right back at it on Monday on the road again.

We didn’t quit last night and try to get on vacation early.

A point is important to us as every point matters.

Thank you.

Ready – Set – Go!

In all of its glory and detail. Here is the information you need about this shortened NBA season.

Lots and lots of back to back games.

Five games in a week.

This is why we have 15 players under contract.

There will not be a lot of time for practices – mostly shoot arounds, play the games and then travel.

The players MUST take care of themselves. As noted “eating well, drinking lots of water and getting rest and sleep” will be keys for staying healthy.

Wish us well. A good read here. See you all on opening night against the NJ Nets on Monday night.
