Lots of stuff on last night

Here are links to lots of stories about the Washington Capitals.

Some about last night’s game; some about the trade dead line. Some about the state of our key players and their lower or upper body injuries.

There is a lot to think about – there is a lot to read. There is a lot to do.

I watched the game last night – while I was at the Wizards game – and then afterwards; when I came home.

With as poorly as we are playing of late – and with 19 games left to play – we are still in the playoff race and the race for the SE division lead.

That is the light I see that is still turned on; we have a home game on Friday; a very important game for us; in fact – from here on out – every game is an important game for us. Wish us good health; see you all on Friday.

Best and Worst of Times

We saw a really selfless and talented team in the first half last night – we scored 68 points – our best offensive output of the season. We were shooting more than 55 percent. The ball was moving; the shots were falling; the spacing on the floor seemed right.

In the second half – we came out and played in a one on one fashion. We slowed the ball down; we didn’t respond to Sacramento’s push and we end up losing a winnable game – sad to say- 115 to 107.

It is often the little things too that are highlighted in a loss; take a look at the free throw percentages here – The Kings were 25 for 27 from the foul line; the Wizards were 16 for 27. A 9 point swing in points from the foul line with the same amount of shots taken; we lose the game by 8 points.

The team needs a break; we enter the All Star game related days off knowing we have a lot of work to do to continue to show progress. Thank you for showing support of the team at the game last night – we are all really appreciative of your turning out in big numbers for the game. Thank you again.
