Best and Worst of Times

We saw a really selfless and talented team in the first half last night – we scored 68 points – our best offensive output of the season. We were shooting more than 55 percent. The ball was moving; the shots were falling; the spacing on the floor seemed right.

In the second half – we came out and played in a one on one fashion. We slowed the ball down; we didn’t respond to Sacramento’s push and we end up losing a winnable game – sad to say- 115 to 107.

It is often the little things too that are highlighted in a loss; take a look at the free throw percentages here – The Kings were 25 for 27 from the foul line; the Wizards were 16 for 27. A 9 point swing in points from the foul line with the same amount of shots taken; we lose the game by 8 points.

The team needs a break; we enter the All Star game related days off knowing we have a lot of work to do to continue to show progress. Thank you for showing support of the team at the game last night – we are all really appreciative of your turning out in big numbers for the game. Thank you again.

Not a fun night in front of the tube

The Wizards ended a long road trip with a bad loss. We come home and play on Wednesday night at Verizon Center, next.

We went ahead early in the 3rd period and then watched as the Suns went on a 30 point run; it was a tough night trying to fall asleep after watching both the Caps and Wizards lose last night.

We went 2 for 5 on this trip. Some progress and some falling back into bad habits.

Midnight showing

That was a terrific game worth staying up for; we fought til the end – but came up short. Compared to the last time we played the Clippers; I was encouraged by our team’s stick- with – it ness and resolve.

It was well played as noted here and here

A tough schedule continues as the team next heads to Utah.

Our team seems to be building some chemistry and fortitude; that is good to see.
