It is coming up on the 100th anniversary of the sinking of the Titanic. There is lots of interest in this subject – and here is a great film about the arrogance of technology and the tragedy of a great loss of life. Click here on SnagFilms.com.
As we mark the 18th anniversary of the start of the Rwandan genocide, which killed 800,000 people over 100 days in 1994, SnagFilms debuts an important film about this tragic event, one of the worst genocides in modern history. In 1994, neighbors killed neighbors and friends killed friends, but some chose to cross the lines of hatred to protect each other. “Kinyarwanda” is an award-winning drama based on true accounts of courageous survivors and their inspiring stories of forgiveness, reconciliation, healing and hope. This film won the World Cinema Audience Award at the 2011 Sundance Film Festival. Roger Ebert gave it four stars and listed it as #6 in his Top 20 films of 2011. We are proud to bring this powerful film to audiences — now playing on video on demand on Comcast and FiOS and Amazon Instant Video, and coming to more digital pay-on-demand platforms and cable providers in the coming weeks. Please read this moving and important blog on Huffington Post by “Kinyarwanda” director Alrick Brown here. The film is available on Amazon Instant Video here.
“Capturing the Friedmans” is a must see film. I watched it at a film festival; in a theatre – on HBO and now on SnagFilms. This is truly one of the best docs ever made. What a story – what fantastic editing and direction.
It has been ranked as one of the 100 best documentaries ever made!
I am proud of my good friend Andrew Jarecki – this film making experience motivated me to get into the film making community and to even launch SnagFilms.com. Andrew was very helpful to me when I made my first movie called “Nanking”.
Watch this fantastic movie this weekend; you won’t be disappointed.

One of the greatest documentaries of all time is now available, for free, on SnagFilms for the month of April. Directed by my friend Andrew Jarecki, “Capturing the Friedmans” was nominated for an Academy Award and is the winner of 18 major international awards, including the Sundance Grand Jury Prize. It’s a riveting, true story about one of the strangest criminal cases in American history – and continues to be debated over 20 years later. If you’ve never seen the film, it’s truly not to be missed, and if you have seen it, it’s worth experiencing all over again. Click here.
