The Stars Come Out…in Rockville
On Sunday night my wife and I entertained Fox News’ Chris Wallace and his wife at Stella’s, a fine new dining establishment in Rockville, Maryland. Ironically, while we were eating, Chris’s show was being played in the bar as a rerun on Sunday night. The owner of Stella’s was so happy to see Chris in his establishment.
What did Chris and I talk about? The Stanley Cup Finals; the NBA Finals; the overall business climate; and the upcoming NBA draft.
Last night, Ernie Grunfeld and I took John Wall to dinner in Rockville at Cava in the same neighborhood. What did we talk about? The Stanley Cup Finals; the NBA Finals; the overall business climate; and the upcoming NBA draft.
It was John’s first visit to an authentic Greek restaurant. John is working out here in DC. He is attending some of the workouts by potential draftees. He is watching the Mystics practice. He is watching film.
We talked a lot about basketball trivia. John is a real – and I mean a real – student of the game and its history. I am very impressed by his level of respect for the game. He loves it. He understands the importance of not just hard work but of paying homage to the past stars of the game. And the past great teams as well.
John is a very nice young man and he is very committed to our rebuild. He looks like he has already grown an inch this off season. He is working on his strength and his jump shot and is watching hours and hours of film. He enjoys it all too. He loves the game.
He is uber smart; very polite; very intense; and focused. I enjoyed the dinner very much and it was fun to see diners at Cava do double takes as John walked in and out the establishment. He was very nice to sign autographs and pose for photos as well with some of our neighbors. John was wearing some new Wizards merchandise too. He loves the new designs and color schemes.
John attended this morning’s work out, too.

Proud.Watch this one. I did.
John Ferber is Co-founder of Advertising.com, an Aol company.
He walks the talk.
Brother of Scott Ferber, now founder and CEO of TidalTV. The original founder of Advertising.com.
People at Aol don’t even realize this Internet exec was an AOL employee. This is a double bottom line show and we should all embrace this ethos.
Way to go!

I can’t do it. Not anymore.
Too mainstream.
Gotta find something else cool and relevant to do.
Any ideas? Thank you. Watch this one– see why I can’t do it anymore.
And Many of Us Were There
And remember when.
This all looks so antique and old school now.
But at the time it was radical and new!
Watch these web 1.0 television commercials.
This is great stuff. Thank you for compiling these ads and making us all smile.
Reality
Could you live your life with cameras in your face 24 /7 for months at a time?
Naked?
Losing? Stressed? During the holidays with your family?
Would you be able to prosper and feel comfortable?
Would you be a better person or organization because of that experience?
Think of it. Be honest with yourself. Could you do it?
Do characters on reality television prosper after their experience on reality TV shows?
Welcome Back Conan

“Less – Much Less.”

My Brush with Reality Television
In 2005 — I went to Los Angeles and pitched an idea to two producers of reality tv series; my show was called “Second Chance”. The idea was simple; a charity or enterprise that helps a community is in trouble; a call is made to a group of business exec-angels; we all come together to use our talents and connections to save the charity and help the organization. Business men and woman rally for a cause — we give back; we help communities. We are good
. Not bad. CAA was my support agency — a former exec — Michael Camacho set up the meetings. I learned a lot. Continue reading
