Midnight Madness

Amazing recounts of the game by hard working writers and bloggers everywhere. Thank you for generating so many words and pictures and videos so late into the night. I appreciate all of the effort here as I know how physically and emotionally draining a 3 OT game is on everyone.

Japers’ and so many other outlets that covered the game are a click away here. Thank you – read up on the game – watch videos here. Rest up later today. Go Caps!

Epic Game but Just One Game

I will remember the playoff series against the Bruins as the most competitive playoff series since we have owned the team. Every game was a one-goal game – 4 games went to OT, and we won a 7 game series on the road in OT.

And I will remember the game last night against the Rangers as the most epic and competitive and tightly played game since we have owned the team. We essentially played TWO games last night. There were almost 100 shots on goal by both teams – we lose in triple OT 2 -1.

Neither team deserved to lose last night. Both teams played heroically.

But we are down 2 – 1 in the series. We play a next game on Saturday at home. We have a couple of days to rest up – gain perspective – and rise above it; get refocused. And get back at it.

It was a pleasure to watch the game last night – being on the short end of that outcome is painful; but it is just one game in a seven game series.

We will remember this game for a long time – but to be direct –we must shake it off, place the game in perspective. We lost a game – and there are 4 games left to play in this series; don’t look back – only look forward.

Thank you for staying up so late last night. Metro was open until 1:00 am. I know I got home at about 1:45 am, and was up at 5:15 am to start my workday today. I didn’t sleep much; but today is a new day. Go Caps!
