More Progress

We are committed to keeping our team together and to coming into training camp in September with continuity and a team that is healthy and confident. Signing both Laich and Fedorov are two more signs of that ongoing commitment to our plan.

I view these signings and meeting that commitment of continuity and loyalty to the current team as a major deliverable of ownership to our fan base and to our core group of players. They have earned the right to compete as a unit next season. Onward to get the rest of job done and then to training camp in September. Thanks for your ongoing support.

What’s NOT to Laich?

Here is a nice story on Brooks Laich. Brooks had a very good year. He is developing nicely as a very versatile player. He is also emerging as a fan favorite. He is big, fast, strong and young with upside in his game. He plays center; wing; kills penalties; and can play on the power play.

Peter Bondra was one of my favorite players of all time. He is now retired. We traded Peter to Ottawa and Brooks Laich came to us in return. I have kept some of the emails I received about the trade. You should read them sometime. They would make your hair stand on end. :-)

It is a great story that Brooks has developed into a nice piece of our overall rebuild plan.
