DC Sports Team Owners Root for One Another

We do. We really do.

That was a fun event.

I enjoyed it very much.

A rising tide will raise all boats. We are in a small club. We are all part of this community.

Click here to read about it. Thank you for attending today and thank you for watching it on the web.

Go Skins! Go Nats! Go DC United!

Go Will Go

Here is a great story about a very cool sports team owner in town, Will Chang, who now owns completely the DC United. Click here for the story.

DC United is the most successful franchise in town if you look at the last decade in terms of wins and championships. They are the premiere winner in town.

Will is a great executive and a passionate leader. DC United is and will be in very good hands. Go Will Go.

PG United

Wow, big news here from DC United. There is a new planned stadium and move out to Prince George’s County. A new world class facility will do wonders for the team’s viability and economics.

In this economy, creating a private public partnership is a smart and savvy move. We will miss DC United if they move but a new stadium and world class real estate development is needed to kick start the growth of MLS here in our area. Kudos to DC United if they can get this legislation passed and break ground on new digs.

MLSnet on Kicking It

Here is a very nice write-up on “Kicking It” and The Homeless World Cup. The folks at DC United and MLS have been a joy to work with. They are very connected to their communities and understand the power of sports to transform lives.

ESPN will start showing “Kicking It” in September. I will update you on the programming times once they are available. I hope those of you who didn’t see the film at a festival or in a theater will watch it for free on TV.

End Sermon

Thanks to DC United for feting us at halftime yesterday. We saw a great game as DC United beat the LA Galaxy and they treated our Homeless World Cup team like professional athletes. Ben Olson came out to our games and conducted a skills clinic and the team let our players meet the DC United players as they came onto the field for the second half of the game. DC United is a class act. Thanks for all of the support. And MLS supported us in NYC and LA too. We can’t thank you enough.
