Mystics make a trade

To get some help and experience in the back court. We welcome to town Noelle Quinn.

We are hopeful she will help drive our offense and add to our scoring from the back court. She plays an up tempo game and is very court aware. We like her game.

To get value – we had to trade value – and we will miss Marissa Coleman; we thank her for her contributions to our team and to our community over the last several years.

I expect Sheila Johnson and Trudi Lacey to make more moves this off season to help improve our team. Onward.

The Washington Mystics conducted a great draft yesterday and I am very pleased that we chose – with the second pick in the draft - Marissa Coleman of the University of Maryland.

She has size; quickness; can score; can rebound; and has upside. She is a standout local product and our GM and Coach believe she will fit in so very well with the newly constructed lineup. Did you happen to see her amazing performance on ESPN last month? She was outstanding and I thought was the best player in the ACC tournament.

Slowly and surely the Mystics are showing signs of off season progress. We are retooling the team the right way with a balance of veterans and young players. We all can’t wait for the new season to begin.
