Streaming

Streaming long form video is the way to go. It is fast, efficient, safe and secure. Convenient. Ubiquitous. Read this article on Netflix and their latest “digital twist.”

When we started SnagFilms, I remember many critics saying that downloading and DVD up sell was the way to go. I disagreed and I believed in streaming. SnagFilms is a leader in streaming long form video and offering our films everywhere on every platform for free or via pay per view.

I have always believed in convergence. I was thrilled to meet a DC neighbor on the Acela train on Monday watching a film on SnagFilms on his iPad as he journeyed to NYC. Now that is convergence. Using WiFi and an iPad to watch a free movie on a portable TV! He was also doing his email on his Blackberry.

On Being Inauthentic

It is bad practice. Read this article to see what I mean.

SnagFilms would never do something like this. We don’t need to in a “double bottom line” business.

Our fans and customers are our affiliates and viewers. We stream for free.

We support charities.

We have legitimate support via our fans donating pixels to a cause.

Note the CEO of Netflix talking about cable and that Netflix doesn’t have sports programming.

I own sports programming, Monumental Sports and Entertainment.

I own SnagFilms and indieWIRE.

Looks like we are well positioned for the future, eh?

It really touches all of the bases and mentions all of the players in the industry.

Digital distribution of films is really picking up steam. It is amazing to me how well we have positioned SnagFilms. It is mentioned within alongside YouTube, Netflix and Hulu and we are yet to celebrate our first anniversary.
