Today

Up at 4:15 am.

Worked and cleared out my overnight email. Wrote a few blog posts. Left my house at 5:30 am.

Took the 7:00 am train to NYC. Met lots of fellow Georgetown folks on their way to MSG and the Big East Tournament.

Working at American Express headquarters and giving a speech this morning.

Maybe catch a few moments of Georgetown game on my way home.

Taking the 2:00 pm train back to DC; conduct a SnagFilms meeting with a partner when I return; and then we all go to the Caps game tonight.

This will be a long day with almost 6 hours on a train getting back and forth to NYC.

How Is This For A Long Day Today?

I start the day in NYC and go to NHL executive committee meetings.

Then head over to American Express HQ for a board of directors meeting.

Then head over to NBA HQ for a team meeting with financial folks.

Then jump on a plane and land at Dulles and head over to George Mason University campus for 11:00 pm meetings followed by camp tip-off at 12:01 am.

An 18 hour day - in two different cities.

I work hard for no money. :-)

Money Can’t Buy Happiness

New York City is ranked last in happiness. NYC is all about the Benjamins; all about “Cash is King”; and when the world changed, people became unhappy and angry. Money can’t buy happiness. This is so true.

My book The Business of Happiness ships in February. If you agree with this survey and article, I think you will like reading my book.

Sit In and Strike

I am in NYC at a ritzy hotel. I just checked in and the employees are all on strike chanting “Scab! Scab! Scab!” as a manager helped check me in at registration. About 300 employees are chanting and yelling ”Power to the people!” and they have blocked all entrances at the hotel.

The union leader has a megaphone. This is a scene right out of the 60′s. Instead of turning me off, I will come here all of the time. “Power to the people! Ride on! We shall overcome!” This is too cool.
