SnagFilms Acquires another Sundance Film Festival Winner

SnagFilms already has more than 20 films in its library that have won or been nominated for an award at the Sundance Film Festival. As this year’s Sundance Film Festival comes to a close, SnagFilms announced the acquisition of another Sundance award winner (in 2011) — “Kinyarwanda.” This incredible film is based on true accounts of the Rwandan genocide. A powerful story, well told. Roger Ebert gave it four stars and listed it as #6 in his top 20 films of 2011. It was also recently nominated for three NAACP Image Awards. Look for it on cable video on demand and online pay-on-demand platforms in the coming months from SnagFilms. Read more here.

Easier than Ever to Submit Films to SnagFilms

The famous Sundance Film Festival starts at the end of the week. There are hundreds of great film festivals — maybe thousands! – around the world, and most of them have filmmakers “apply” (submit their films) through Withoutabox, an easy, online entry platform, and part of IMDb. SnagFilms has become the first distributor to be part of the system: now a filmmaker not only can decide to submit their film to screen at Sundance or Tribeca or other festivals, but also submit it to SnagFilms for us to consider distributing it. Every film SnagFilms offers goes through a quality review process, just like a festival does. Withoutabox + SnagFilms = more ways for filmmakers to get their work in front of bigger audiences, worldwide. More here.
