I am quite fond of Tomas Fleischmann as a person and as a player. He is a terrific young man.

I think this trade helps both teams.
I am happy with the trade–although I will miss Tomas–who blossomed into a regular 20 goal scorer under our coach’s tutelage.

Our scouts always liked Tomas’s talents; our coach loved his skills and productivity; our GM respected his work ethic and upside; but some of our fans were very impatient and highly opinionated to the negative. You should see some of my emails and go check out our message boards sometimes. 
Good thing we have professionals working for us. If you remember, Tomas was the throw in prospect to us in the Robert Lang deal with Detroit. We also received a #1 that turned into Mike Green. He is now emerging as a Top 6 forward. He is young and he can play.
“A pick and a prospect” was our mantra for our deals during our rebuild, trading older vets for our future.
I am so happy that this deal turned out well for us. Tomas is very upbeat in the locker room and a great teammate. Everyone wants him to succeed. I am very proud of him.
