It is a Dirty Job but Someone Has to Do It

VERSUS has a new show starring Junior Seau. He is focused on doing the hands-on work on people in the sports industry. We were fortunate to have him work with us for a week at the Washington Capitals as a ”roadie.” He even attended and worked the opening game against the Bruins in Boston.

Check out this promo on the show and if you have the time, check it out next week as it debuts. Details here.

Junior was an impressive man; very poised and funny and hard working. And he got the game puck and a signed Ovechkin jersey for helping us win our season opener on the road. Go Caps!

VERSUS vs. DirecTV

I am a DirecTV subscriber. I feel your pain.

As I understand it, you should be writing to DirecTV NOT to me about this carriage of the network issue.

Here is information from NHL.com. Please email or call DirecTV NOT me. Thank you.

I also understand that your local cable company may have some good offers regarding NHL games and season ticket passes. Don’t hesitate to call your local cable company, too, to find out what to do to watch the games.

I want to help BUT I don’t own DirecTV or the cable MSO or VERSUS. Please communicate directly with them as I have. Thank you.

Popular, Aren’t We?

We must generate some good ratings on television as VERSUS and Canadian TV are broadcasting a lot of Caps games this coming season. We will be on VERSUS seven times and on national TV in Canada 17 times.

All of our games, as is our way now, are televised. Thanks Comcast SportsNet. We have come along way in terms of broadcast exposure over the last 10 years, haven’t we?

Click here for the news release regarding our national TV exposure. Go Caps!

Thank You Comcast

Here is the news release about this year’s television schedule.

To translate, Comcast will broadcast 73 games on Comcast SportsNet or Comcast SportsNet Plus. Fifty games will be seen in HD.

Seven games will be shown on Versus.

To date, we have two games that won’t be seen on TV because of some exclusivity issues - Versus vs. Comcast SportsNet – but we are working on that issue right now. So 80 of our 82 games will be seen on TV. Last season, 81 of our 82 games were seen on TV. This year, more games will be in HD than last year and more games will be on Comcast SportsNet vs. Comcast SportsNet Plus. Overall I am pleased with the schedule. Go Caps!
