This is a good move by the Washington Mystics injecting even more talent to our coaching ranks. Marianne Stanley knows the league; its players; its officials and our city.
She is a class act and will do wonders with the team’s best post players. We are a young team and we are now working free agency and the dispersal drafts to improve on last year’s performance and record.
We have a plan. We will stick with it. We have a system. We will draft and recruit to fit the system. We have a system and our coaches will adhere to it and encourage players and coach them to work the system and execute it well.
Marianne Stanley is a winner and she will command respect of our players and work hand in glove with our staff. Well done.

A great game but a bad result and our season ends in overtime against the best team in the East. I am proud of the progress we made as a franchise this season. We became very competitive as a team. We qualified for the playoffs and our team is now on its way to ongoing and consistent positive results.
Our new General Manager and Coach helped to change the culture of our team. They are demanding; pay attention to details; and are positive that our team can compete for a championship if we adhere to our master plan. We have to build and maintain the core group of players; draft well; teach team concepts; run the ball; and have lots of depth.
Our players also like one another. There is good team chemistry. We are a young team and we will improve year after year.
I am satisfied with our progress. We have the best and most passionate fans in the WNBA. Thanks to all of you for being so supportive and understanding during our reboot as a team. Part of the team’s success flows directly from your ongoing support. Onward.

Ugh. Thud. Same old, same old. We were up by 12 points at one point and lost by 9 points. We are young and Indiana is a vet laden team. They know how to close the deal and did they ever in the 4th period.
Enjoy this article on the game. We are gaining experience by playing against such a talented roster. We will continue to improve. Onward to next game in Indiana. It’s win or go home time now.

Here is an article on the Washington Mystics first playoff game at Comcast Center at the University of Maryland. Several of our players - who excelled in college at U of MD - are very excited about this scheduling change. The game will also be on ESPN 2. I hope you will go with your family and watch this playoff opener.

Here is information on how to buy tickets for our first playoff game against the Fever this Thursday night. We are forced to play this game at the Comcast Center on the University of Maryland Campus. It should be a fun night with a loud crowd of college students and our season ticket holders. Come on out and support the team. These young women are role models and can really play hoops.

I am very proud of the Washington Mystics and the front office and our partner Sheila Johnson. I am very happy that our players seized their moment to shine and delivered in a huge way a big win last night.
We have qualified for the playoffs. Our first check mark delivered on our list to turn around the franchise. It may not have been pretty and we are essentially a 500 percent performing club but we are in the playoffs for the first time since 2006 and it feels good.
Thanks Mystics fans for being so supportive. Step 1 of our transformation is complete. Onward.

The Washington Mystics have two games remaining to play this season, tonight at home and tomorrow afternoon in NY. If we win both games we are guaranteed a playoff spot which would be considered a terrific turnaround from last year’s disappointing season.
The team can control its destiny now. We will be at the game tonight. Alex Ovechkin will be at the game tonight too. Come on out and enjoy some great family entertainment and see some exciting basketball.

Thank you for turning out this season and thanks for caring so much in good times and in bad times.
Here is a great article about the enthusiasm in the fan base and about our team this year. We have so much still to improve upon but we are making steady progress towards our goal of competing for a playoff spot; making the playoffs; and hopefully winning a championship. Our business operations now are world class as well. Thanks for noticing Washington Post. It is very much appreciated.

Here is a nice article in the New York Times about the Washington Mystics and our turnaround so far this season. We have now won as many games as we did all of last year so we are making good progress. BUT there is a lot of work left to do. Our goal is to qualify for the playoffs and then take it from there. We have a bunch of games left to play and we probably need 8 to 9 more wins to qualify for a playoff berth. Wish us luck.

I am happy and proud of the play of the Washington Mystics. We beat Chicago last night - 75 to 64 - after a tough loss a couple of days ago against Indianapolis.
Our team has heart and we play hard every game. We look and have the confidence now of a top team, a playoff team. I think this team can be well positioned come playoff time. We run the court so well. We have lots of depth. When we play with energy, we can play and compete with every single team in the WNBA.
I encourage you to come see a game. We are the number one fastest growing team in the WNBA and we are the leader in overall attendance for a reason. We play the game the way it should be played. Click here to read a story about last night’s game then come to a game and enjoy affordable good family entertainment. Go Mystics!
